Company Overview
Formally established in February 2020, Clarke Surveys Inc. is afull-service Land Surveying/Geomatics and Geospatial firmlocated in Barbados. The team is composed of Registered, Licensed, Professional Land Surveyors with experience in Environment and Development, Geoinformatics (GIS/Remote Sensing/Photogrammetry) and Project Management. With backgrounds in public service and the private sector, managing survey projects of all scales, Clarke Surveys Inc. are well positioned to deliver on client needs.
The team at Clarke Surveys have developed competencies with various geospatial technologies such as the latest in GNSS surveying, UAV surveys, and GIS. Clarke Surveys are more than competent in producing client deliverables using CAD platforms such as Autodesk AutoCAD and IntelliCAD and using GIS packages such as QGIS and ESRI ArcGIS. The team is able to manage multiple projects to ensure every client is satisfied by leveraging the latest technology, automation and quality control.
The team at Clarke Surveys have been involved and central to several notable projects such as the Strengthening Disaster and Climate Resilience in the Eastern and Southern Caribbean (SDCR) Project - Consultancy Services to survey the Lower Reach of the Speightstown Watercourse in Barbados in Speightstown, the Coastal Risk Management Project (CRMP) in Holetown (from Sunset Crest to Heron Bay) and on the South Coast of Barbados (from Accra Beach to St. Lawrence Gap); the Barbados Water Authority’s Water Supply Network Upgrade Project (Half Acre, St. Lucy; Indian Ground, St. Peter; Mt. Stepney, St. Peter; Ellerton, St. George; Shop Hill, St. Thomas); the topographic survey of Fairchild Street for the Transformation of Bridgetown Project; cadastral surveys of several multi-acre sites such as the Bagatelle Metal dump and Bushy Park Plantation.
The Clarke Surveys team has attained postgraduate qualifications in Geoinformatics and Environment and Development. A multifaceted team, the team also holds qualifications in Information Technology (Network+ and MCSA), Public Sector Management and is currently pursuing a Facilities Management qualification. There is an emphasis on continually learning and training in the latest technologies in the geospatial sector such as 3D scanning and UAV mapping. All members of the Clarke Surveys team are members of the Barbados Land Surveyors Association and as such adhere to their strict guidelines for professional conduct. Members of the Clarke Surveys team are active members in regional and global geospatial initiatives and are active participants in the Caribbean Geospatial Development Initiative (CARIGEO) a new programme under the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) aimed at improving the use of geospatial information to underpin sustainable national and regional development.
